Why not join BLOG - as a Performer, Behind the Scenes, or as a Patron?

Performers

BLOG is always looking for new members, either to perform on the stage or behind the scenes. We perform a variety of shows to suit different singing styles, but we find that members who join for a specific show, say a musical, often continue with us and find they also enjoy being in Operettas. We welcome new singers who are experienced principals, as well as chorus members or complete beginners. All we ask is that after a week or two, you audition for the society with a song of your choice. Don’t worry if you cannot read music – our Musical Directors prepare tapes of all parts so that the music can be learnt by ear.

Once in the society, there will be opportunities, if you wish, to try performing solos in our Summer Concert, and there are always minor roles in our productions to try for. Our casting for shows is by audition (sometimes it is necessary to limit the number in the chorus to ensure the right musical balance or to enable the show to be staged appropriately).

Our annual subscription is £15 per year, which entitles you to be in our Summer Concert, to audition for our two main shows, to receive the Newsletter three times a year, and to join in with our Social Events. Performers also pay a Show Fee of £15 per show, to help cover the costs of costumes, orchestra etc.

Behind the Scenes

We welcome new members for our enthusiastic backstage team. We are always looking for people to help with Set Design, Painting and Construction, Stage Management, Wardrobe and Lighting, as well as Front of House. We can also provide opportunities for members to become Directors or Musical Directors.

Patrons

Patrons are our loyal supporters. For £10 (£15 for a couple at the same address) they provide welcome financial support, and receive priority booking rights for all our shows and concerts. They also are invited to our social events (eg. Quiz Nights, BBQs etc)
